ANNOUNCEMENT FOR FULL-TIME AND PART-TIME POLICE OFFICERS

The Village of Doylestown is accepting employment applications for full-time and part-time police officers. Applications and background waiver forms must be picked up in-person at and will need to be returned to the Doylestown Police Department at 20 S. Portage St. Doylestown, Ohio 44230 Mon-Fri between the hours of 8am and 4pm. Applicants are encouraged to include a cover letter, resume, and copies of any applicable certifications.

Applicants who have completed an application with our agency within the last year do not need to submit a new application.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

-High School graduate

-U.S. Citizen

-21 years of age at the time of appointment

-Certification by the Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy

-Must possess a valid driver's license issued by the State of Ohio

-Must be insurable by the Village's insurance carrier

-Must be willing to make a two-year commitment to account for hiring and training costs


SELECTION PROCESS:

Interviews will be conducted at the Doylestown Police Department.

May also include a physical fitness examination, medical examination including drug screen, psychological and/or psychiatric examination, and polygraph examination.


PAY AND BENEFITS:

A full-time officer is eligible for OP&F retirement system credits, Ohio Deferred Compensation enrollment, Health Insurance, Employee Assistance Program, Vacation/Holiday/Sick Time, Uniform Allowance, Reduced Government Cell Phone Plan, and various training opportunities. Starting pay is $27.81/hr with annual cost-of-living raises. Experience and training may also be considered upon hiring.

A part-time officer is eligible for PERS retirement system credits, Ohio Deferred Compensation Enrollment, Employee Assistance Program, and various training opportunities. Uniforms and equipment are provided. Starting pay is $25.75/hr with annual cost-of-living raises.
