The Ohio School Safety Center is conducting Active Threat Scenario-Based Training for Law Enforcement

March 11-12, 2025. The cost of the two-day training is $200, and the training is

approved for 16-hours of CPT credit.


Officers will be trained in solo response tactics, using force-on-

force. The training will provide principles and tactics for:


o Hallways & Intersections

o Room entries & clearing

o Stairs


Training will be held at:


Johnson Elementary School, 1340 Auburn Ave., Barberton, OH 44203

Officers should bring their everyday duty gear, but no live weapons or ammunition. Students should

also wear long sleeve shirt or sweatshirts. The Ohio School Safety Center will provide training weapons,

ammunition, and protective equipment.

Brief description of some of our other courses. 


 


Active Threat Response Tactics – FREE – 8-hour class where we teach one and two-person response tactics. We focus on hallways, intersections, stairs, and room entries. At the end of the training, we do a couple of scenarios to implement what we practiced. The class is free. We have trained a many officers in this class and several entire law enforcement agencies. We use blue training guns (no live-fire or force-on-force. You will receive 8-hours of CPT credit.


 


Firearms Simulator – FREE – We bring the simulator to your agency and put your officers through 6-8 scenarios in an hour. You will receive 1-hour of CPT credit.


 


Active Threat Scenario-Based Training - $200 – 16-hour class that trains officers in solo response tactics and utilizes force-on-force. We provide the firearms, ammo, and safety equipment. You will receive 16-hours of CPT credit. This is our most popular training for law enforcement. By the end of the year, we will be offering the same class but for small team tactics (2-3 officers, like the response to the Nashville school shooting).


 


Advanced Pistol - $200 – 8-hour class that is live fire. Officers will shoot dynamic drills, utilizing communication and movement. You will receive 7.5 hour of CPT credit.


 


Advanced Rifle - $200 – 8-hour class that is live fire. Officers will shoot dynamic drills, utilizing communication and movement. You will receive 7.5 hours of CPT credit.
