Survival Training for Law Enforcement: Knife Attack Speed



In this video, we show what does reasonable movement time look like. Read the research listed below if you want to see peer-reviewed facts. Waiting for an attack to be initiated or confirmed significantly increases your risk of harm, particularly in situations where time is of the essence.


If you wait to see what the suspect is reaching for, reaction time is cut in half before taking action to stop the attack. Research suggests reaction times can vary from 0.2 to 3.0 seconds.
