IMPORTANT: CPT Hours Update

Good afternoon.

Last week, the attached memo was released from OPOTA. Please take a moment to read it over as there have been changes to what I’ve been telling you.

There will now be some additional options to receive most of your 24 hours of CPT credits online. OPOTA Online will have 20 hours of courses online (of the 24 total hours required for 2025 CPT). The remaining 4 hours can be found through OPOTA in-person, VR headsets,  and/or Agency pre-approved list.

As a reminder, only courses taken from the 2025 Continuing Professional Training catalog will be accepted towards 2025 CPT credit. OPOTA Online topics taken in previous years do not count towards 2025 CPT credit. Past in-person CPT courses will NOT be accepted towards 2025 CPT credit without a 2025 CPT number.

My apologies for any confusion. These updates were made in an effort to assist you all in gaining greater access to training.

Thank you.
